GreenCap Series Pressure Relief Valves

Heartland Solutions, Inc. of Oldsmar, Florida, USA, is proud to announce the release of the first full-line of pressure relief valves for today’s transformers. The Heartland GreenCap Series is now available. The use of Natural Ester-Based (NEB) fluids is rapidly becoming the fluid of choice because of its inherent efficiency and bio-degradability. One of the most commonly used NEB fluids is Cooper Power Systems Envirotemp FR3. Under the guidance of Cooper Power Systems, the GreenCap Series pressure relief valves were created. According to Cooper Power Systems, the conventional Mineral Oil transformer pressure relief valve may not be suitable for long-term exposure to FR3 fluid. Therefore, a specially designed pressure relief valve should be used and adhere to the following requirements:

  1. Each valve should be properly treated to ensure the valve operates within the specifications outlined for each pressure relief valve model
  2. An easily distinguishing marking (i.e. a GreenCap) should be used to identify the valve is FR3 compatible
  3. A minimum flow rate of 50 SCFM should be used, and
  4. Each FR3 compatible pressure relief valve model type should carry a unique part number

The Heartland GreenCap Series models meet these requirements and are available for all the same pressures, flow rates and features as our conventional Mineral Oil pressure relief valve models.
